Foreign Trade Expectation Survey of 3rd quarter of 2019

Export and Import Expectation Indices realized for the 3rd quarter of 2019.

08 July, 2019 - Foreign Trade Expectation Survey (FTES) reflects assessments of Turkish leading foreign trade firms regarding recent and current situations along with their future expectations. Particularly, it helps to produce indices which can be stated as leading indicators.
 

FTEI* = 100: A stable outlook to the foreign trade by the leading firms covered by the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey.
FTEI > 100: A positive outlook to the foreign trade by the leading firms covered by the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey.
FTEI < 100: A negative outlook to the foreign trade by the leading firms covered by the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey.

Export Expectation Index realized as 123.3 in the 3rd quarter of 2019. Diffusion indices of survey questions composing the Export Expectation Index show that, in the 3rd quarter of 2019 in comparison to the previous quarter, the level of current export orders (96.5) have decreasing effect over the Index while expectations regarding exports (139.9) and export orders for the next 3 months (134.3) and the export orders of the last 3 months (122.6) have increasing effect over the Index.
 
Import Expectation Index realized as 98.1 in the 3rd quarter of 2019. In the 3rd quarter of 2019 in comparison to the previous quarter, among the survey questions identifying the Import Expectation Index, the expectations regarding import unit price for the next 3 months (92.1) and current level of import orders (76.0) have decreasing effects over the Index while the expectations regarding the level of imports for the next 3 months (118.2) and the level of import orders of the last 3 months (106.2) have increasing effect over the Index.
