September 2025, DG ECFIN’s flash estimate of the consumer confidence indicator increased by 0.5 percentage points (pps) in the EU and 0.6 pps in the euro area. However, in a longer perspective, the indicator has shown a relatively stable trend since April 2025, significantly below its historical average, with consumer confidence currently standing at -14.3 (EU) and -14.9 (euro area) points.
