China's consumer prices remained unchanged in September 2023 from a year earlier, following a 0.1% rise in the previous month and falling short of the market consensus for a 0.2% gain.

The annual core inflation rate, which excludes food and energy prices, remained unchanged at 0.8% in September. On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.2% in September, compared to the consensus of 0.3%.
