Consumer Confidence Index in the Euro Area Stood at -16.3 Points in March 2026

In March 2026, DG ECFIN’s flash estimate of the consumer confidence indicator plummeted in both the EU (-3.4 percentage points (pps) compared to February) and the euro area (-4.0 pps). At -15.2 (EU) and -16.3 (euro area) points, consumer confidence scores markedly below its long-term average, reaching its lowest level since October 2023.
