The UK trade deficit widened to GBP 3.83 billion in January 2019. Exports rose 2.3% and imports increased 2.8%. Imports of goods from non-EU countries rose 6.2 percent, however from the EU countries were 1.8 %. Exports of goods to non-EU countries edged up 3.9 percent, shipments to the EU rose 4.3 percent.
